Add Excitement and Energy to Your Tracks with Guitar Feedback
Guitar feedback is an excellent way to build anticipation and signal a change in your tracks. Unfortunately, you need to crank your guitar amp to unreasonably loud volumes to get it. To save you the trouble, I have recorded 210 guitar feedback samples you can use in your own music. There’s a wide range of different feedback sounds that evolve and change, full of rich harmonics and overtones. Simply drag and drop them into your tracks for an instant boost of energy and excitement!
210 Guitar Feedback Samples
All of the feedback sounds are organized into separate folders so you can find the exact type of feedback your track needs. I’ve also recorded a bunch of pick scrapes and fretboard slides.
8 Ableton Live Drum Racks
I’ve organized all of the feedback samples into 8 different Drum Racks. These allow you to quickly audition the different feedback sounds and trigger them with your favorite MIDI controller. Each sample also has a set of Macro Controls so you can sculpt them, tune them, and fit them perfectly into your tracks.
17 Playable Instrument Racks
I found that the guitar feedback samples work really way as playable instruments in Live’s Simpler. All of the feedback sounds contain evolving overtones and harmonics that sound incredible for creating chords and melodies. The 17 Instrument Racks allow you to adjust the ADSR envelope to sculpt the sound, as well as adjust the sample start and end points, which drastically change the sounds over time. I’ve added a Low Pass Filter so you can remove some of the upper frequencies, resulting in smoother and softer sounds. Finally there is a delay for an even more epic sound.
Hear the Difference
Below are two versions of the same song. The first does not have any of the Guitar Feedback samples or instruments. The second one does. You can hear howling feedback over the drums during the intro and before most of the changes. All of the lead melody parts are made with Instrument Racks from the Guitar Feedback Pack. Notice the increase in energy and excitement in the second version!
