Create Your Own Unique Guitar Riffs

GUITAR ROULETTE works by chopping guitar riffs into individual notes and phrases. As you play through the notes on your MIDI controller, you are rearranging guitar riffs and creating your own patterns and melodies. Each instrument has its own guitar tone, musical key, and Macro Controls for crafting the sound to fit your productions.

Guitar Roulette: 33 Ableton Live Instrument Racks for creating unique and diverse guitar riffs.

Beautiful Guitar Sounds

All of the 33 GUITAR ROULETTE instruments were created with riffs played on my 1994 American Standard Fender Stratocaster, run through Fractal Audio Systems’s Axe-FX 2. The iconic Fender Stratocaster gets treated with the finest amp, cabinet, effect, and microphone emulations of the Axe-FX. Sounds range from classic rock n roll, jazz, metal, grunge, experimental, and psychedelic.

Customize Your Guitar Parts

Quickly transform the sound of each instrument with carefully mapped Macros.

  • Mellow out the high end and create sweeps with Lo Pass Filter.

  • Create interesting swells and reversed-style sounds by raising Attack Time to reduce the sound of the guitar pick on the strings.

  • Change the key with Transpose or use it for extreme pitch shifting.

  • Write beautiful cascading melodies with the Arpeggiator controls.

  • Use the Delay and Reverb to add depth and space to your guitar parts.

  • Experiment with Simpler’s Playback Modes to change how the notes of the guitar interact with each other.

  • Notes are arranged by slices, not time stretched, which helps create the element of surprise in your playing, allowing you to create melodies you would not ordinarily play.

Experiment with Poly and Mono Playback Modes of Simpler to allow notes to either overlap or cut each other off.

Create your own unique guitar riffs by playing chopped up guitar parts on your MIDI controller.

Watch the Making of GUITAR ROULETTE

I live streamed the creation process of GUITAR ROULETTE. This 3.5 hour long video (yea, it took a while) shows me experimenting with the different sounds of the Axe-FX and recording the riffs that became the basis for the 33 Instrument Racks.
