The Monthly Music Mission!
The Monthly Music Mission is a goal we’ve set in the Music Production Club to make a new song every month. Last month we did the Spain Adventure. And now, we are teaming up with Charlie McCarron, creator of the Troubadeck, to create this month’s song!
The Troubadeck and the 7 of Hearts, which is a tribute to my late dog, Vera.
The Troubadeck and PerseVERAnce
The Troubadeck is a deck of 54 playing cards, each with a chord progression and illustration of an animal playing an instrument. They are designed to gamify songwriting and jamming; pick a card and make music with it! Many of the animals pictured on each card are based on real pets.

Charlie dedicated the 7 of hearts to my late Shetland Sheepdog, Vera. Vera was one of the best friends I've ever had and the Troubadeck card is a beautiful tribute to her.
The card contains a beautiful chord progression we can use to create a song for the Monthly Music Mission.
Charlie has also created 9 backing tracks and a few MIDI files containing the chord progression, to help you get started. There’s also a special jazz backing track created by our friend Ben Burnes.
I’ve included a collection of samples and Ableton Live Instruments I’ve made using recordings of Vera’s voice and barks.
Use as many or as few of these materials as you like to create your next song!
