Ableton Tutorial: Adding Life to Short Loops

In the world of loop-based music, it can be easy to create music that sounds repetitive and redundant, and at worst, boring.  If you happen to be dealing an extremely short loop, a listener's interest can be lost fast.

Fortunately Live allows you program automation that is longer than your loop.  So you can take a one bar loop and have a filter sweep from high to low over the course of four bars.  This will make your one bar loop sound like a four bar one.  Things get really exciting when you combine many different layers of automation of a variety of different lengths.

This tutorial will show you how you can create complex automation on short loops, which makes those short loops come alive!
