Fender Pickup Press is an Ableton Live Instrument Rack made with the sound of a string plucked while being pressed against the pickup on Nick Lovell's 1994 Fender Stratocaster.

Nick Lovell created the track “Single Haze” below, using a bunch of my sound packs (HAZE, REEL SYNTHS v2 MOOG MG-1, Micro Cassettes, and Noises, Risers, Swooshes), as well as Huston Singletary’s Singularities Live Pack (I had a great conversation with Huston on the Music Production Podcast). When he sent me the track, I had to ask what that sound at :45 was. It was the sample of the Pickup Press. As you can tell, it’s a really nice sound, so I asked if I could make it into a Free Ableton Live Pack. Nick graciously complied! Hear it all in action below and check out Nick’s work.
