Prophets of Doom: Ableton Live Pack Made with Prophet 6 Analog Synthesizer
A Beautiful Analog Synth Now in Ableton Live
Earlier in the year, Dave Smith Instruments announced they had regained control over the Sequential Circuits brand and were releasing a new Prophet synthesizer, inspired by the Prophet 5. The result is the Prophet 6, a perfect blend of the classic sound of the Prophet 5 with just the right modern touches. I couldn't be happier with it and can pretty confidently say it is the coolest synth I own.
Naturally, I got to work building my own sound banks and sampling the synth into Ableton Live. The result is the Prophets of Doom Ableton Live Pack. It contains 25 Instrument Racks built from samples of the Prophet 6. Each preset has 32 Macro Controls that allow you control over the filter, the amplitude envelop, a dual arpeggiator, and various effects. I designed the effects section to help you recreate those classic analog synth sounds we all know and love.
Prophets of Doom
25 Ableton Live Instrument Racks created from samples of the Sequential Circuits Prophet 6 analog synthesizer. Classic synth sounds with a warm vintage vibe.
In the video below, I take you through the Instrument Racks and give you a sampling of some of the sounds you will get with the Prophets of Doom Ableton Live Pack.
Evolving Sounds with Tons of Control
While building my presets on the Prophet 6 and sampling them, I made sure to capture the movement of the synth's filter. It's hard to explain how rich and warm it sounds. The effects, which are pictured below, allow you to further manipulate the sound and unlock worlds of sound with each Instrument Rack.
The Pack is compatible with Ableton Live 9 and above. I also created a special version of the presets in Live 9.5 so you can take advantage of Live's new analog-modeled filters. Have you heard the new filters in Live 9.5? They sound outstanding. As with all of my products, if you don't love it, I'll give you your money back. Enjoy!
